A perfect conversation starter for young readers- all about how disabilities can be difficult, but you can overcome obstacles! Through Ginger the dog, we see how an accident causes her to lose her leg, and she deals with the physical & emotional pain that that brings.

However, with time, healing, and inspiration from another dog with a disability, she finds her joy again! I really like that we followed her as she experienced different stages of healing, and I felt it was really handled in a realistic and child-appropriate way.

The illustrations fit the story perfectly- and the emotions really shine through. I loved all the different doggy characters!

Synopsis: When Ginger, a spirited dog, faces a life-changing injury, her world is turned upside down. But with the support of her friends and a heart full of resilience, she discovers a newfound positivity that helps her embrace life’s challenges.
I LOVE that the author created a free resource for teachers to use with their students- perfect for homeschool teachers, elementary teachers, and librarians!
